Hamptons International Film Festival has a celebrated and rich history for introducing a unique and varied spectrum of films and filmmakers. The festival's executive staff realized that the fresh voices and global perspectives they emphasized during its fundraising initiatives were being lost on audiences.
A new brand idea and identity was created to drive recognition and impact through the community. The brand idea, “at the leading edge of cinema” is communicated through a new bold identity — “a stamp” of influence.
The logo and key messaging positioned at the edge of a visual plane created tension, inviting viewers to engage. Black and white imagery — a nod to the origins of cinema, captured the expansive landscapes associated with the Hamptons, while full-color imagery of films and artwork enhanced the overarching visual experience allowing the subject matter to “shine” through.
Bold, color graphics, and generous white space were developed to create a visual progression that references film frames — always advancing how we experience culture through communities.
The new identity created a unique and inspiring brand expression, driving awareness but more importantly, introducing leading-edge cinema to audiences.
